I have no idea why this photo, or rather its motif, fascinates me so much. It’s not the first time I shoot this staircase, I make the same photo over and over again because I find the forms so intriguing; the lines, the patterns have a tension between them that fascinates me. This is not beauty but I find it beautiful, it gives me a certain, precise feeling in the pit of my stomach that I sometimes get from photos or things I see, compositions that moves something inside me.
